Short answer: Pick a prop firm and program to see its drawdown limits, profit target, payout split and fees, each linked to the firm's own rules page and dated. Rules change often, so always confirm on the firm's site before you pay. This is a reference, not a recommendation.

Daily vs maximum drawdown
Daily drawdown is the most you can lose in one trading day, measured the way that firm defines a day (often from a midnight balance or from the prior session close). Maximum drawdown is the floor for the life of the evaluation or funded account. Either limit can end the account on its own. A percentage is not comparable across firms unless you also know whether it is taken from the starting balance, the prior close, or live equity including open trades.
Trailing vs static drawdown
A static drawdown is a fixed floor, usually a set percentage or dollar amount below the starting balance. A trailing drawdown moves up as the account makes new highs — sometimes in real time, sometimes only at the end of the day (EOD-trailing) — and usually does not move back down. Once it locks at the starting balance, the remaining room is only the profit you still hold. We quote the firm's own wording where the method is easy to misread.
Profit target
The profit target is the closed (or stated) gain you must reach to pass a phase. One-step programs have a single target; two-step programs have a phase-1 and a phase-2 target. Hitting the target is not enough if a drawdown, consistency or minimum-day rule is still open.
Consistency rule
A consistency rule limits how much of the required profit can come from one day. Firms state it as a share of the profit target or of total profit so far. Some treat a breach as a fail; others raise the target or ask you to keep trading until the share falls. There is no industry-wide “30% rule” established from a primary source.
Payout split
The payout split is the share of eligible profit the firm says it will pay if you request a reward and meet its funded-account rules. The headline percentage often applies only after you pass, and only on the payout path you selected. Add-ons, first-payout exceptions and news-trade haircuts can change the amount actually paid.
Refundable fee
Some firms say they return the evaluation fee after a first (or later) payout. Whether they do, after how many payouts, and whether a reset or add-on changes that, is in that firm's terms. “Refundable” is not the same as a guaranteed rebate.
How to read these rules
- Confirm the legal name on the checkout page matches the site you are paying.
- Read whether the funded account is described as simulated or live. Evaluation results are not an investment track record; see how to check a forex manager's track record.
- A prop-firm evaluation is a different product from a forex fund or managed account. See forex funds vs prop-firm funded accounts.
- Check drawdown type (static, trailing, or end-of-day trailing) before you compare percentages.
- Note minimum days, consistency and news or weekend limits; they often decide a pass or fail.
- Treat every value here as dated. Open the source link and read the current page before you pay.
Is this firm still operating?
This checker does not judge operating status. The prop firm status tracker logs what each firm publishes about its own status, dated and linked to the firm's source. Confirm on the firm's site before you pay.
Common questions
How do I compare prop firm rules?
Read the same fields side by side: daily and maximum drawdown, whether the drawdown is static or trailing, the profit target for each step, minimum trading days, any consistency rule, the payout split and schedule, and whether the evaluation fee is refundable. Every number here links to the firm’s own rules page with the date we checked it. Confirm on that page before you pay.
How do prop firm payouts work?
In general terms, a trader who meets the firm’s published rules may request a share of simulated or stated profit on the schedule the firm publishes. Minimum days, consistency rules and how a simulated account becomes a payment all vary. This page states only what each listed firm publishes.
How much does a $50,000 or $100,000 funded account cost?
There is no single price. Some firms charge a one-time evaluation fee; others charge a monthly subscription until you pass. Where a firm published a figure on the page we checked, it appears in that firm’s row with the source and date. Where it did not, we show “Not published by firm”.
What is the 2% rule or the 30% rule in prop firms?
Those phrases are used loosely. Some programs express a daily or overall loss as a percentage of the stated account size; some cap a single day’s profit as a share of total profit (a consistency rule). Whether any listed firm uses 2% or 30%, and what the figure applies to, is only in that firm’s own rules. We have not established an industry-wide 2% or 30% rule.
Methodology and corrections
Values are taken from each firm's own rules, FAQ or terms page. We do not use affiliate lists, forums or review sites as sources. No number is published without a source URL and a checked date. Missing fields show “Not published by firm” or “Not established”. A value older than 30 days is marked stale; after 60 days it is replaced with “Re-check pending”.
If a figure is wrong, use the contact page. Corrections are recorded in the per-firm change history when we change a published value. The Research Editor spot-checks values; this first version has not yet had that monthly sign-off on every row.
Seed firms omitted from this checker because we could not read a usable official rules page: apex trader funding; fundingpips; the5ers. Where a firm-published status page was readable, those firms appear on the status tracker.
